CREATIVE WRITING

My writing career has been on and off for years, but my love for writing never stopped burning, even when I took a break. Although my favourite genres to write for are horror and thriller, I have experience in a plethora of genres. I enjoy world-building and character designing before I even write a new story. I am excellent at matching writing styles to preexisting stories if joining a project already in the works.

Meliorism World Building Document

In a sci-fi world where a company known as Science of Tomorrow is astronomically close to having a breakthrough in its efforts to develop time travel, a volunteer who assists with their studies accidentally finds himself centuries in the future. This is a document that breaks down the futuristic city that they find themselves in, named Perdasaian.

Zombie Apocalypse Cinematics Script

This is a screenwriting snippet from a long-term project where a zombie apocalypse has broken out in a small urban town in Arizona. At this point, the player and his two companions are on a mission to find a hideout for the night. The first scene ends and there is an intermission of gameplay before the second cinematic starts.

Familial Short Story

Inspired by stories of my grandmother’s youth in rural Southern America, we follow a high school senior named Dollie as she interacts with her family during dinnertime. Riddled with southern slang and having nothing but casual conversation, sometimes stories don’t need a real conflict and can have a moment of peace as you watch characters interact with each other. Writing scenes like this remind me of the snippets of conversation you catch in video games if you go idle for too long, and I aim to write more to this one day.

OTHER PROJECTS

Director
Student play

I got to direct a production of Treasure Island from start to finish in my Junior year of high school. Although my teacher assigned my actors their roles, I could make the play my vision. I possessed the final say on everything from set design to costumes to blocking and lighting. I managed rehearsals and set the schedules for my actors and stage manager, monitored our budget, and set production deadlines that were consistently hit. Through this project, I developed a good understanding of my actor's abilities and was able to showcase my leadership skills.

During high school, when I was still a theatre major, I was much more in tune with the production side of the industry than being on stage. Throughout my years at an art school, I managed many amazing projects. Though it’s a different industry, the following are some of my proudest achievements during my education there.

Head of Costuming and Makeup
Spring Musical

In my senior year, I was assigned the role of costuming and makeup for our spring production, Seussical. I was once again given complete freedom to execute my creative vision while also monitoring the budget I was allotted for fabric and makeup. I was provided with a team to manage and set our production deadlines in accordance with the Director’s own schedule. From costume trials to spending every day hand-making every costume to providing not only reference documents to the actors for each of their makeup looks but also hosting a class to help teach the ensemble and supporting characters how to efficiently execute their looks (while also being there on standby to assist anyone the night of every show), I did it all. I also provided extensive documentation of every design, monetary purchase, and updated schedule to my Production Director.

Assistant Stage Manager and Head Makeup Artist
Spring Musical

Simultaneously with Treasure Island, I was the ASM for our school-wide Shrek: The Musical production. I was third in production (below our Director and Stage Manager), assisting them in time management, stage blocking, note-taking, and actor performance feedback during rehearsals. Outside of rehearsals, I designed the makeup looks for the show and taught the cast members how to execute said looks during tech week. I was the lead actor's sole artist and facilitated the lead actress's quick change during all performances. When I wasn’t doing their makeup during shows, I managed the prop table to keep everything running smoothly.
